30 Minute Blackboard Downtime: Fri 4 10pm – Sat 5 February 2am, 2022

Following the recent exam period, we are returning Blackboard to a “business as usual” capacity.

What is happening?

Blackboard will be downsized to handle a normal “business as usual” number of concurrent users.  This follows recent upsizing of the system to handle a higher number of concurrent users during the exam period. This work is routine and has also been applied to Blackboard after previous exam periods.

Who will be affected?

The resizing work will involve a short period of downtime, during which neither staff nor students will be able to access Blackboard or associated tools such as Turnitin.

When is this happening?

The capacity resizing work is scheduled to take place between Friday 4 February 10pm to 2am on Saturday 5 February 2022. Whilst we expect the resizing to take only a few minutes the downtime may take up to 30 minutes.
